it's a wonderful day !

I just uncovered a treasure trove of crockery my mom used before I was even born—absolutely stunning stuff! Considering I’m 57 now, this crockery must be at least 80 years old. I’ve discovered “The Platters of Preservance”!

This isn't just crockery; it's artifactery! I'm half-expecting a museum curator to show up and ask if I’m willing to part with these ancient relics. All I need is a hat and a magic wand to give this a theme song !

This picture says it all ..

and this is the finale !

You: "So, guess what... I almost slipped the other day."

S: [stunned] "Wait, what?! You what?!"

You: "Yeah, yeah. I know. Almost. But don't worry, I didn't actually mess up."

S: "How did that even happen? Weren't we just talking about this? How did we get here again?"

You: "Well, that's the thing... it's like the chicken and egg situation, you know? Which came first—the urge or the slip? And here we are again, riding this merry-go-round."

S: "Oh great, here we go again with the philosophical debate..."

You: "Exactly. It's a never-ending cycle, and frankly, I’m dizzy from it. We should’ve just stuck to talking about chickens."

S: "Or maybe how not to slip again?"

You:  "Now there’s an idea. Revolutionary, really."

Prayer
Page 275

"Prayer takes practice, and we should remind ourselves that skilled people were not born with their skills."

Basic Text, p. 46

Many of us came into recovery with no experience in prayer and worried about not knowing the "right words." Some of us remembered the words we'd learned in childhood but weren't sure we believed in those words anymore. Whatever our background, in recovery we struggled to find words that spoke truly from our hearts.

Often the first prayer we attempt is a simple request to our Higher Power asking for help in staying clean each day. We may ask for guidance and courage or simply pray for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out. If we find ourselves stumbling in our prayers, we may ask other members to share with us about how they learned to pray. No matter whether we pray in need or pray in joy, the important thing is to keep making the effort.

Our prayers will be shaped by our experience with the Twelve Steps and our personal understanding of a Higher Power. As our relationship with that Higher Power develops, we become more comfortable with prayer. In time, prayer becomes a source of strength and comfort. We seek that source often and willingly.

Just for Today: I know that prayer can be simple. I will start where I am and practice.

Talking about blue bird

My four-legged divas had to endure the horror of a half-hour late lunch today because, you know, their gourmet meal was still simmering on the stove. When I finally served their feast, complete with Tarini placemats for their delicate bowls, they all looked at me like I'd committed a crime against dog-kind.

The moment those bowls hit the floor, they pulled a collective power move: noses in the air, paws firmly planted, refusing to even acknowledge the meal. It was as if they had a secret meeting beforehand to organize a protest.

"Late lunch? Absolutely not," their stance screamed. Honestly, they are so so human!

3. Use sunscreen daily: Protects skin from UV damage.
4. Use a retinol-based product: Stimulates collagen production.

*Lifestyle Changes:*

1. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated from the inside out.
2. Exercise regularly: Improves circulation and boosts collagen production.
3. Get enough sleep: Helps skin regenerate and repair.
4. Eat a balanced diet: Include foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, and antioxidants.
5. Manage stress: High stress levels can lead to skin sagging.

*Additional Tips:*

1. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
2. Use facial massage techniques to improve circulation.
3. Consider professional treatments like chemical peels or micro-needling.

Remember, firmer skin takes time and consistency. Start with small changes and be patient!
